hey guys, ive got a 92' model courier ute with the 4cyl motor and 5spd manual. it was a nice cheap car and is great for my motorbike, only thing is, is that its gutless as fk!

so, i was wondering if anyone knew or was able to find out whether i will be able to put a 4.0l efi motor into it?

if so, what do i need to get from the donor vehicleapart from motor/trans, and will i need to modify anything? or can i bang it straight in?

cheers guys smile.gif

I think a straight six would be a bit too long for a Courier.
I helped a guy with a 4.0L Explorer V6 conversion of his Courier once. Can't remember the year but he liked it.
Personally I'd just use a 5.0 which, has also been done.

im actually working on a similar conversion for someone, 2002 4.0L ford / mazda v6 into a 1996 ford courier. He is using a supra 5sp gearbox, and I will more than likely use an EMS ecu for it. (its currently in the paint shop) Once its in and running I think the plan is to strap a turbo on it.
