Hey guys,
Has anyone heard of stuff to prevent the rubber sticking to the kit and ruining the paint. I might be wrong but i thought there was somthing to spray on and after a burnout it would wash straight off. Was just thinkin of headin to the drags tonight but dont wanna screw my paint.

Cheers

Here's an idea I came up with and its worked for me.

I put on a decently layer of car wax onto the rear bumper sides and a bit on the quarter panels. It almost dries clear so it doesn't look bad, plus when you are all done, get your hand and brush off all the rubber. The next day I wash the car and once its all clean get a micro fibre and take off the wax.

I've heard of people using Vaseline and stuff like that yeaarrss ago but I wouldn't stick that crap on my car heh

that idea is good one will have to give it go.

Might give that a go tonight. Is any type of wax ok? Which do you use?

XF Falcon- 02-17-2009
The wax I use is the same stuff I put on my car when I'm polishing/waxing it. Its called DP's Max Wax (bought it from over east). I'm sure any car wax would work just the same.

I'll probably be going yeah, I'm just trying to find out roughly where the cruise goes before I fully commit to going. Trying to rustle up a few mates to come as well, but they aren't replying yet.

Ah nice, I'll be able to drive the XF again, I miss the old girl hehe
How did they go? if its a long story we can talk on the Friday tongue.gif

vasoline will not damage a cars paint

i have heard of ppl using crc as well and coatign the panels in that
thena good wash and it is all gone

schnoods- 02-18-2009
Vasoline is good.

Also another is Baby Oil as well.

XF Falcon- 02-18-2009
yeah sorry I wasn't implying that the Vaseline would damage the paint or anything, I just wonder how you can take it off easily without using stuff like wax n grease remover..etc?

Disco Frank- 02-18-2009
just wipe it off with a soft cloth then wash car as normal

cozza's_xr6- 02-19-2009
Thanks for the ideas. I used some spray car wax last night and that worked but wasnt much rubber on the guards to really test it, so will try some ideas and just see which is better.
