I have some major peeling (sunburnt) on the roof of the car, also a little on the boot and bonnet. My question is:
Can i sand the clear off, and "re-clearcoat" it? Any special type of clearcoat to be used? The paint where it has peeled looks a little rough as well. Sanding this back a little bit may bring through some fresher looking paint? My guess is that the clear has peeled back a fair while ago, leaving the paint exposed to the sun, which ended up burning the paint a bit.
So is this possible? If not im just leaving it untill i get a full respray later on in the year.

i would say sand back the roof and get the clear redone.
might pay to get the clear all over again while your at it at least it will look even shall we say.

if it works, which i dont see why it wont, ill only be doing the roof, the boot and some of the bonnet. its more of a temporary thing to make it look less tacky until it gets a respray further down the line. 1200 once the clear is done should smooth it out a little. I'll give it a shot on a small patch and go from there.
Cheers, Chris
