WA, the backwards state

how are we the backwards state. all our time is in line with japan and such and we have the best economy out of all the states. in fact without us aus would be f***ed.

Just because some snooty lil stock broker wants to be in line with sydneys stock exchange. if it worries him that much he can get up an hour early instead of waking the whole damn nation that hour early. Why should the rest of the state suffer in late night heat.

WA was the first spot in the whole world to get out of this recession so how is it that its ok for everyone to think we need to adjust to the rest of the world. we must be doing something right. so f*** the rest of australia i say. they can follow our example not the other way around.

i don't see the connection between the economy (mining specifically being the big section that kept the WA economy going) and daylight savings?

(don't get me wrong - I've had a dislike for them on occasion, but have ALWAYS shown then the respect they should be shown - and hence have been let off more times than I have been booked)

There were a couple of good points that started to highlight the deeper issues with the 'hoon' laws, however, like always, most keyboard warriors just type away instead of taking the time to stop, read and think.....

I apologise for starting the DST bullshit. That was a wind-up and it took off like a frikin marlin!

DJL351 - I agree that when you get pulled over, show them respect and you're likely to be dealt with in a positive manner. I too have been let off a number of infringements because I didn't try to bullshit them or go off at them for "wasting their time with me, instead of going out and arresting the rapists and murderers, the real criminals", cos they love that so much. But then there's the Hwy Patrol. In my experience with them, they don't give a shit. There's no leniency, they don't want to hear anything. Agreed, it's their job, but when they are given quotas that must be filled, it seems like the reason for policing isn't for our safety and well-being, but to raise revenue.

I had a brother-in-law who was a traffic cop in Geraldton and he saw a lot of bad shit as a result of people driving carelessly, under the influence of alcohol and drugs and doing dumb shit on country roads. He said he was harsh because it pissed him off that those people should still be alive and when he saw someone doing what these other people were doing before they died, then he gets right up them. All well and good, but... f*** it... bed time and I'm still not on topic.

I guess, if anyone gets hoon-lawed, take lots of photos, maybe get the towie modeling your car for you as well and when you get it back, check the fluids!

The best thing you could do if your car gets taken for hoon laws, at least then you have proof of the damage, if any, when you get your car back.
