danc666- 03-31-2008
Was thinking about that at one stage but its too much work, my bro offered to put the running gear from his v8 ed in it as well but thats too much work as well, actually i said it could be mine and his if he would do all the work he said ok thats kool when you wanna start! But its just too much work and would cost too much. (i'll soon have a house to pour money into so the car/s will take a back seat for a while)

just get it runnin, and bring it over! i wannna see it drop skids!

GlennO87- 04-02-2008
cortina 6`s drop some nasty nasty nasty skids (most of them)

A friend of mine had a TE with a XF 250 x-flow extractors, exhaust, a cam, not sure what kind. And a 350 holley, that things went like the clappers. It was auto and if you planted it off the mark it was like there was a bushfire around he he he.

Would of never knowen, looked stock as and it was cream, how i miss that car

GlennO87- 04-02-2008
btw apparently there is a guy in perth with a TC or TE cant memba which with a EL XR6 motor in with a bit of work runs in the 13`s smile.gif

yeah i was talking to him a while back and getting the info about how he went about it, el xr6 isn't real hard to put in, a au motor would need a custom sump (big $$$$). I have looked into a lot of different motors for it 6s, v8s, rotors, 6s with turbos ect. But i'm just going to go the easy way with it. It can drop a mean skid as it is but its not something i do all the time.

Get a 5litre out of an AU smile.gif........i rekon it would fit

danc666- 04-08-2008
yeah it would but then comes strengthening the chassie rails, new custom engine mounts, getting a stronger diff, a new gear box, upgrading the brakes, getting the computer to work (or getting a motec or other aftermarket comp and getting it to work), getting it engineered. The last time i looked into putting an 8 into it the cost was somewhere around $17000 and that was for a carbie'd one. Plus its a hell of a lot of work to do it!!! and i dont get a chance to work on it as it is. So It IS STAYING A SIX! I dont have the money or the time with the car for all that work.

GlennO87- 04-10-2008
what do you rekon it would do 1/4.......15`s?
