Hey everyone,

I'm the owner of a 2002 Ford Falcon AU Series 3 XR6 being the last of the tickfords. As an admirer of Tickfords I dont want to touch the engine in anyway that would take away from it being a Tickford. So my question to all my Ford Brothers and Sisters is "What can I do to make my car more powerful without messing with Tickford???". I'm currently saving for Pacemaker headers, hiflow cat and 2.5" cat back but have no clue after that.

My cars complete stock cept for K&N box filter and it has an ECU.

of course it has a ECU but what you want is a tune to go with the engine you have and the exhaust and extractors your car will have.

wont see big big gains by using the stocko cam anything you'll notice a improvement on fuel economy more so.

anyways welcome along and bung up a few piccys of this AU when you get the chance.

All you can do is bolt-on's mate. Such as the air intake, full exhaust and tune.

To make it accelerate quicker maybe change the diff gears.

To get decent power you will need to do cam and valve springs. All of which can be changed back later on so its not going to wreck it so to speak.

I'd love to supercharge it but the cost is little too much for 19 yr old uni student. Will changing the cam and valve springs bring a big gain??? Either way you'll see my car at the cruise on the 24th so you can flood my brain with ideas and dream mods then smile.gif

Depends how wild you want to go mate. Can see gains of anywhere between 10%-25%. Its the best you will get keeping the car N/A.You might also need a tune depending on how big you go.

Take your time in picking your brand and grind. Ask lots of questions and do lots of research.

Hey guys,

Whats the benefits of better spark plugs and ignition leads??? I know this is an electrics question but I thought I'd keep it in the same thread

if your thinking about staying N/A i got a list of things you can do to it. mind you the only tickford part you will be left with is the block tongue.gif on the cruise if ya come over to see me ill show ya some stuff.

as for leads and plugs.
the better the leads and plugs, the better the spark which gives a better ignition, doesnt really give much KW gain tho just better fuel economy.

does adding pacies, hi- flo cat and straight thru exhaust mean a tune???

My car runs SO S**T now after i put the pacies on. It wants to stall at RED lights and some time's it surges/ruff idle and hunts like a V8

Starting to piss me off now wadesta/C1.gif

It normally doesnt need a tune.

I would assume the oxygen sensor that threads on the extractor has been damaged.

thats what my bet would be.

Most little mods wont need a tune, however it is best to do all the mods and save it for one tune.
