suggest finding a wrecker motor and building it up on the side then when time comes its a day swap and might be able to get some coin back by selling the ridgy dige motor.
240rwhp is where im at the moment only have to find another 30hp till im happy looking at some options at the moment.

AU intec motors can be had cheap as with low km's too, so can keep yours on the side.

Ok guys ur all legends you've helped me heaps I just have few questions...
1) How much psi is the average?
2) Whats the highest psi you can go?
3) Is there much difference between an stock AU Block and a tickford block? (my bro reckons tickford blocks are made of much stronger metal)

I cant beleive no-one has suggested Diff Gears yet... these are a real help specially if you have Biggavitis and have 2.7's

A, 10psi is average B, how deep are your pockets haha C, nup same block i've heard stories that the VL turbo blocks where supposed to be stronger than the std blocks but havent seen any proof.
and have a look round the atomic site.

Ok thanks Big Gav I loved the "How Deep are your pockets???" though I know its true. Would diff gears quicken my car? If so what would you recommend?

Diff gears will make it accelerate faster due to the change in final drive ratio. Its always a compromise. Being an XR6 you should have 3.45's in it. Thats a quite good all round ratio.
Id go 3.7's or 3.9's but be mindful of the fact the car will be revving higher at cruise speeds which will chew more fuel.
Also the Tickford blocks are no different, just the heads.

All these are quite helpful, but I've been told VCT engines are a little harder to work on.
I have a manual au1 xr6 with vct.. turbo is going to happen but not for a very long time. in the meantime what small things can be done? computer chips, rockers, etc..

Ok cool cheers guys thats helps heaps I think I'll just save now to get a supercharger. One thing is I can only find CAPA's straight 6 charger, does anyone else make them and can u give us a website (if possible)

been told by honer to look at www.snortperformance.com for chargers looks like they doing some PD style blowers now which is ace.
and to dimsim yeh VCT seems to be hard to get around but chips like the eliminator chip is a good one to start off with.
