Eoi: Ed Ghia And Eb

Hey guys, EOI for an ED Ghia (cardinal red) and a EB (white). BOTH UNLIC

The ED Ghia :

Stock as a rock, done the usual amount of k's (just over 200k - not exactly sure as the odo stopped at 200k, hasnt done many k's since)

4L with a 4spd auto trans, LSD diff (so i was told by the mate i bought this car off, although ive been told Ghia's come stock with LSD? rumour?)

The head is apparently less than 12 months old, as is the radiator. Missing the cowling from the radiator fan. A/C is gassed and works fine.

Interior is tidy, has new roof lining.

The rear left tail light cover is cracked (still works) and there is a few small scuff marks and a bit of a dent under the rear left tail light.

Has been run on unleaded (91) as far as my mate knows. Has a few dents on the roof, bonnet, boot (nothing major) from where my mate used to park his car at work (under a tree with nuts)

Has spare rim + tyre.

Good for parts, the mate i bought this off didnt rego it once in the entire 2yrs he had it, so no idea how long it has been unreg'd for.

The EB :

Not sure on the K's this has done, havent even looked, just got the car and let it sit there. Still starts, gets turned over every week. Also stock as a rock car.

Interior is pretty decent, the stereo unit from the centre console has been taken out, not sure if i still have it either.

Has a patch of rust in the rear left wheel fender/arch, havent looked at it in a while. Has a spare tyre. Car body has a few small dents (quite small)

Automatic transmission, drives well.

Will take photos tomorrow arvo and post em.

Both run and drive well.

Both would be good for parts, not willing to strip them just yet.

Anyone interested?

lol owners manaul tape, be pretty rare,

lsd question, hard to say, the v8 ones did, but the 6cyl mite of been an option, jack it up and check the tags

Lsd was a standard feature on the Fairmont but was an optional extra on the Fairmont Ghia.

According to my owners manual all Ghias came standard with LSD. They're usually open wheeling by now though

Going by the pics you put up of the red car it looks more like an EB not an ED as it's got the EB grill and EB and ED Ghias had digital dashes as well plus it doesn't have the ABS badge on the boot either which is late EB and ED. Either someone has put Ghia badges on it or changed a lot of parts on it ? Is the center back seat belt a lap/sash type ?
If not then it's definitely an EB.

ive never seen a EB or ED ghia with the Digital Dash except for the EB series ones, they made this a Fairlane/LTD only thing by then. They just got the Full Gauge unit

It looks like an ED Ghia with an EB grill to me. In regards to what Andy said:
1) Grill is an EB one
2) Only EB/ED Fairmonts had the star wars dash, the Ghias had the sports pack cluster (90% sure on this), someone else might be able confirm/correct
3) ABS badge is only a sticker, might well have fallen off by now
4) I thought a center sash belt was standard across the range from the EB as part of the big safety thing Ford had going at the time (stronger roof pillars, introduction of ABS)
5) That interior is filthy!

Thats an EB

ED's have grey across the top of the door trim, not black.

ED"s have colour coded door handles and dont normally have 91 casting heads. Also every one ive seen has a leather wrap steering wheel and snowflake style rims.
