Sure its not a CNC Mill Jase?
If you gave me one to look at/ measure, i could write up the program easily enough. but we dont have an NC at work. ive been using the TAFE one. how would you harden it to the correct brinel?

Hehe a bit of confusion with the Lokka and a Locker.

A locker (detroit locker and minispool) are locked permanently and a Lokka is mechanism that locks under load.

Instead of having clutches or cones like an lsd and shifting a load to each tyre according to the load conditions (ie turning or cornering), the lokka will lock the rear axles under load, but it will be 50-50 regardless of cornering and traction (or lack of). Off throttle it will be free wheeling and no lockage around corners, not like the skidding the inside wheel with a spool or locker.

I am interested, getting a few prices on a kaaz lsd but I'll see what the price is before I commit.

Heat and temper chart as well as stress relieving.

Basically get it to the right heat range, with a temp stick (crayon) or digital thermometer (industrial) and quench in tempering oil .

I don't think it would need to be stressed relieved, though it does depend on what material you start out with.

I'd be getting my hands on some old (the older the better) large truck axles and starting from there. You wouldn't need to harden it as it is tough stuff, just don't put much heat into it when turning it down.

i beleive its a CNC Lathe/miller. Its pretty much the same as the older CNC lathe they have there. I have no idea how its run, but i gather it wont be too hard to use..

all i use is a Oxy torch, heat till its cherry red, then drop it in some Motor oil, stays hardened for a while (bout 2 years), but thats only using what i have around me...

and if you want a temp gauge, Use a pine wood temp gauge tongue.gif, ive heard there the best...

Be lucky if u get any change from $1500 for a KAAZ centre. Thats what i was looking at before but the price wasnt justified compared to a lokka (around $600 i think can someone confirm?)

Id just wack a spool in mine but i dont wanna chew tyres and break axles!

our group buy had them done to below $500. i've been told using thicker oil makes them alot quieter.

i have one of these in the front of my patrol in theory these are excellent for 500 bucks but once i lock the front hubs its locks and it is very hard for it to unlock itself they work on a simular idea to the detroit
