'What what not to do with a 9" grinder"

started out as a good condition mk1 escort $50
from a auctions put tender in for 4 cars got all 4
including 1 xd and xe and xf that i wrecked.

this was a abandon vehicle with keys some fuel,
plugs cleaned and off for a testdrive (on private
land off coarse) only problem found coil lead use to pop
off when selecting 2nd doing a burnout .

well anyway after some fun and 2 tyres out came the
1.6 lt motor for a narrigan burnout car project.



then the 9" grinder came out

slotted what motor had spare which happend to be kec machined mild cam 250ci alloy head engine from my xp falcon pulled out for a more economy efi engine.

anyway in it went



after sorting engine mounts with oversized c channel each side of the engine for something to weld to the xd/e engine mount brackets i started rebuilding the firewall that was missing from the 9" grinder attack.

all i needed was brake and accalrator and thats all I have



after a bare metal respray (so much house paint by last owner) it all had to come off.

then filler over all , sand then putty, primer then topcoat



then capricorn blue then gt stripes.

has factory tow pack external trans coolers x3 in series, crossflow 3 core, thermo fans, stock 1.6 lt 1 1/2 exhaust conected and 2" gate valve that opens straight before the diff for the burnout mode.




then sent up to sisters block while other projects get competed

what was it that needed finishing just the brakes right?

ahh I remember this thing

yep front rotors

possably while compete struts and brakes from v6 capri if can find set.

and respray by now paintwork hasnt lasted the last 3/4 years in the weather.

and possable water pump didnt sound the best when started it last year.

how did it run?

i read about a mk1 with a supercharged capri v6 engine...RUNS 9's!!!!!!!!!!

gave it a drive around the block some years back with no working brakes.

I bring it back to perth one day get it runnin for narrigin.

should just sell the .f***er got to many projects.


the 1.3 did decent burnout aswell with some revs and drop the clutch.

powercruise pig maybe?
