Eye On A Xc Falcon

G'day fella's/ladies, im looking at buying an XC falcon (Ute, Sedan or Wagon) that i can rip into as a project, if anyone comes across one or knows someone selling one could you let me know please

it doesnt bother me if its not working or has some damage, as i will most likely be chopping and changing some parts

hopefully it'll become a beast that can put those damn commodores in their place at the drags

78 xc sedan. Lic as a 250 but not running as I started to remove engine to put a V8 in and ran out of time

GXL Gash, mint working order
GXL bonnet, small amount of rust in usual front bit. std bonnet avail
Interior good cond, but dirty from last owners. I was going to re trim it all

Comes with power steering conversion stuff, recon steering box
Spare grill
Fat front sway bar
and a few other bits i cant remember

Car has few dents and a little bit of rust in the doors and bonnet, but its much better than 90% of XCs i have seen, overall is a good starting point for a project car

As a idea of its overall body condition, to get all the lil dents rust and other imperfections removed, rubbed back ready for paint I have been quoted $1500. In terms of body work thats pretty good.

Im not sure what I would want for it, owes me a bit.

Not 100% on getting rid of it yet either, think of this post more as a EOI

Have you taken a look on ebay Dave? There's a 5.8L green one for $4k from vic and a white 6 cylinder for $2k from vic.

I realise the thread is a bit old, but for anyone interested, I have a mate in the Northern suburbs with a complete and running, but unlicensed XC ute for sale. It runs a ZK Fairlane 4.1L EFI motor, BW 4 speed box, and a modified ZK disc brake LSD Fairlane diff (I think - going off memory). Car is in pretty good condition for age, either register it and have fun with it, or strip it down for a project.
