this is my XW GT Replica. it started life as a 6cyl 3onthetree Falcon 500
i picked it up in 2005 off a guy in Baldivis for $700
it had a running 302 clevo & C4 & was partly stripped still had its original paint so i knew there wasnt much hiding in the sills or 1/4's the roof and rear 1/4's were dead straight and even now it has its original sills on it. the doors and the guards were another story. the back doors i got off an original GT & just took them back to bare metal and primed them they didnt need any repair at all. the front doors have both had half skins put on them i handmade the inner corners before i knew that you could buy them. i also had to replace the rad support panel and rh skirt due to a poor repair sometime in it life. put it on a caroliner and it all measured up square. i searched every where for good straight guards, couldnt find any so i repaired mine and put new inner & outer bottoms on em. sandblasted the engine bay and was suprised to find no rust it the firewall.
i was originally going to paint it SILVER FOX with orange stripes but i was talked into painting it purple, but i didnt want it wild violet like everyone elses, so i went thru a ford colour chart at work and came up with this colour which is off a 1994 Ford Probe called ROYAL PLUM with a red pearl. loks fu@##n magic when clean in the sun.
the interior is all black velour with XC GXL front seats to match rear seats and door trims as i wnted to lean away from the norm. no console and a B&M megashifter.
wheels are 14x7 bathurst globes with 245/60's all round
diff will be a cut down F100 9" with EB axles and disc brakes
motor is a pretty stock 351 windsor and a C4 auto.
