Ok, im starting to look up Prices, Dates/Times for the skid pan day in May....

THE EVENT:
This is an opportunity to bring your own car and drive it on a skidpan.
These events are a lot of fun and very popular. The events are held once a month on a Sunday. The 4 hour session starts with half an hour of theory onPerformance Driving Techniques, including Vision, Seating posture, Cornering and Braking techniques, Smooth driving and Weight transfer. You then get to put it all into practice on Motorkhana style courses. There will be two fully experienced instructors in-car to provide performance tips and answer any
questions. Many participants, from new to ‘seasoned’ competitors have
improved their driving skills and lap times.

Time:
Morning session is 8.30am arrival, finishing at 12.30pm.
Afternoon session is 12.30pm arrival, finishing at 4.30pm.

Conditions:
The numbers will be restricted to a maximum of 16 drivers per
session, and you must pre-book. It is open to those that have a roadworthy car, have modifications they want to try out or those who just want to improve theirdriving skills. No special competition licence is required, just a normal drivers licence, so this is your chance! Long sleeved shirt/long pants, no loose objects in cars, have your tyres 4 – 5 psi higher than normal, and drivers must have an approved crash helmet.

By the looks of their Calender they only have one Skid Pan session a Month, and currently both those session times are free, thus far.

Cost is going to be $80 per Car....

Should we book the one session, or try for 2 sessions.... I will need to ring MC Motorsports and suss out what dates they need payment and names, but if i tentivly book 1 session, and if the list grows book 2?

I will also find the deal out on the helmet, as we know the Plex, ahve changed there standards so whether or not these guys have followed suit is something i have to ask.

Will also have a talk about maybe trophys on quickest time (if they allow us) and few others maybe... (ideas)

Gav can we still get hold of the Trailer with goodies on it?

Thoughts and comments welcome..

im entering i know that but will need a helmet........ mmm will a push bike helmet do lol.
Does sounds pretty good and im sure we will get some interest but as the norm goes interest and paying are to different things.

Definitely in.

Stick with one session for now, first in best dressed.

If there is a high demand, organise another one in another month or 2.

I'm out as i dont have a helmet and don't plan on getting one this year. Jase can you find out if spectators are allowed?, i don't see why not but you never know.

Xran- 03-02-2009
I'd love to commit, but I don't know if I'll be here... sad.gif

Would be great to fang the bunky around, due to it having a slightly more track-oriented box than Monty haha. Plus it doesn't matter if it gets sprayed with stones n shit.

At this stage I'd say I'm more likely to make it in late May - but that depends on how much work is around, if it stays at 5 week swings and if I get left parked on the beach (shouldn't happen as I'm permanent... but the company have their favourites....)

yeh dude trailer is always available

how many bodys do we need to make this a complete goer?

if dont make numbers with just us can extend the invite out to our mates at WCC? but i dont see that being the case IMO

MR XR- 03-04-2009
the max we can have in a Session is 16, i think we should be able to get that no worries...

Spectators, i think should be fine, will double check tho dude.

WILS_88- 03-04-2009
16 will be easy as to get i reckon.

Most track days ive seen have had spectators so i dont think it would be a problem but always best to check.

Provided my car isnt in a million bits i will attend.

As long as they don't have the same restrictions on helmets as the drags, I have an old spare you can borrow Dan.

If you are looking out at the AHG track, yes, spectators are allowed.

MR XR- 03-06-2009
aight just got off the phone with Ashley from MC Motorsports.. to answer your questions.

Spectators allowed? Yes, plenty of Room for spectators to watch and take photos

Helemt Requirements? As as long as it has AS sticker on it.

BBQ allowed?? No… No BBQ's allowed unfortuntly

How much Prior notice do we need? Month if possible, sooner we get a 50% deposit, or everyone is fully paid, quicker i can book it.

Private session for us only would be held on 24th May afternoon ok at this stage.

Price is $1110 for 4hrs for 16ppl works out to be $70 each (includes 2 instructors)
