*update*

just heard back from gerrin he said would be cool to tow it just needs to find a box for his truck and also thinks he might have a v8 that might require a re-ring to get it going again.

Xran- 01-30-2009
Gerrin is the F****g MAN. Go the V8 in it man, with a set of side-exit pipes! Less piping then to keep costs down if Lee and Tiana decide to help out with sponsorship.

I've already said that I have a generator we'll be able to use, and we have a small outdoor table that seats 6 + chairs.

Have to check all that with the fuhrer at home of course, but it should be ok tongue.gif

I'm in. Monty will be there if it gets approved.

Some good news. If we actually get in there this year we will have a very high chance of getting onto the DVD.

Basically what happened is i ordered MV23 at the burnouts and i recieved it the other day. I emailed the chick i ordered it off back to say thanks and i added now ive watched it i have to get off my backside and get my car and club there.

She was so stoked i sent a thankyou email she said come over to the stand and say hi and ill send the boys out wit the camera's to make sure your in it.

I thought that was pretty cool!

Sweet! Need to start thinking of ideas for ways to show our section off a bit. Make it stand out!!

Xran- 04-18-2009
how about a twin-charged fairmont with a 145dB 'entry-level' sound system? smile.gif hehehe.

ummm seriously tho, I reckon working on display pieces is the way to go. banner is good, do we have a way to get it higher off the ground? what about a couple of flags instead that we can have flying next to a Ford flag??

also, I have a projector that (if we can get a tent dark enough) we can have loads of pics displayed from cruises etc? otherwise we now have another bloody TV at our place that we could do the same thing with, and I think I've already mentioned I can get a genset to run it all.

???

Maybe think of some sort of theme? Maybe hire some speakers and pump some music? Maybe even see if S-Tranzor would DJ for a bit one night?

I reckon a couple of flags with the logo in there would look pretty good, maybe put together those pop-up banners. I think there are a couple of designs for them, floating around in here somewhere..

yep can get some DJ equipment happening disco franks said he could help us on that one.

mind you as kilma and anyone else that has been there for the night time party can tell you the anti lag shindig is one thing to look forward to, maybe go with a dragstrip theme can get some starting lights rigged up and stuff.

or a horseshoe type effect like at whitman park that looked tops IMO.

must check in with lil blue on those mod stands if he cant do em in time will have to look to someone else to do them.

Kilma- 04-19-2009
Music will only be any use during the day. As Gav said, the Antilag party usually attracts a big crowd at night.

Honestly, I don't think we need anything too show off as far as a display. It's our first year, so keep it simple and do it right IMO. No need for models/extreme sound systems (something simple is the way to go here IMO) big stands etc.. If we take too much on, that's just more that can go wrong.

We don't know where we will be (I'd expect to be thrown up top being fist year), so it's hard. Get the display stands done, some quality cars in and have a good time. Maybe a kiddie pool or something (I know spas need a fence, but should be able to get away with a kiddie pool) and a tent to get people out of the sun.

Just my opinion there.

I totally agree man, we dont wanna go in too hard to early. Being our first year we have a lot to work out and a heap of things to source.

Having music is cool but i wouldnt go making it to elaborate. Just enough to keep us the entrants entertained, not the whole motorplex.

Once the basics are sorted (shade, flags, stands, entries, camping gear display layout etc etc) then we can look into other stuff. Id almost put money on being put up the top where WCC/XR6T/BMW clubs were.

Not meaning to sound like im killing the party, im just more concerned about getting there in the first place.

biggav- 04-19-2009
agreed maybe im just thinking too grand in my plans and lets face it we did AFD and Powercruise not knowing much on what to expect and we now know what else is required for good weekend lets get there with the basics and take it on head first.

im sure we can throw a great display on for next to nothing as the saying goes(well i think its a saying at least).
