well just to start off im keen as mustard even if its just me and 2-3 others im going under the club banner so im starting a planning thread that we can add to as time goes with what we may need for the weekend: (remembering this gear could become club owned within timeframe so can be used on regular basis for shows and the like)
BBQ - can use xf351gt's BBQ trailer which can be doubled as transportation for other gear and has a 70lt water tank included. TABLES - will require couple of trestle tables to sit around CHAIRS - as per camper MARQUEE/ SHADE - well need some sort of shade may it be simular to what we used at AFD 2007 or a big tent that could be donated for the weekend(disco frank might be able to help in this area) FLAGS - Would think it would mark a nice note to the sponsors if we got some sort of flag(tyrepower has these as saw at this years MV) to go with the proposed banners, maybe some FORD branded ones could be had from a dealership perhaps also. ROPES - not sure if its provided or not but some rope to make our area ours so to speak would include use for star pickets ect. POWER GENERATION - incase we dont get a powered site will require one say for the powered eskys for food and drink. cant keep using ice all weekend will get very coslty IMO, lights would be another idea say Garage tube style with switch ENTERAINMENT - as such music at the night time (antilag throw a nice night time gig but its not for everyone but) mainly during the day a TV could be playing this years upcomming events say Dyno day, AHG day, Paintballing ECT to highlight the clubs events and what we do.
If i have forgotten anything please add to the list as the time is now to start the ground work so we are not all running around at the 11th hour stressing.
On another note spoke with Chris over the MV 09 weekend about a Club cruise car(of course will be a falcon) that our members can cruise the day in if they dont have a car entered or wish to take other members on the supercruises with - if you saw the WCC club car you would know what i mean.
Now this would require volumes of help i understand and a lot of good will donations in order to come about namely the acquisition of a vehicle so im willing to donate my old XF boonga to the cause(if required can temp store it at mine as is now or could ask the likes of TLT - Airborne about a corner of there workshop), engine wise i think a nice V8(302ci Donation) to go with it would be better idea as the 6cyl in it now wouldnt be to healthy could hit up sponsors for other items required.
discussion please

I will need to do a bit of work to bring my car up to scratch before I commit to this. I wouldn't be able to give an answer until middle of this year (and even then, with the way cash flow (isn't) moving at the moment, I am looking more and more towards an answer of no )
FYI: I know star pickets have been banned from some shows because they are a danger to kids. I don't think rope & star pickets would be required either personally (unless you wanted your car roped off from everyone being able to access).
Shade: I think we will need something a bit more hard core than what we had at AFD, but yes, similar thing. Something which can have 3-4 sides enclosed at a minimum for protection from the sun & heat.
If we got something like that for shade, I think ice would be fine, as long as we got an esky that could handle everyone's drinks. Refill it once over the weekend (probably Saturday night) and you would be set. Wouldn't hurt to have power for some lights etc. though.
Good starting list there though Gav.

Good to see a list up early gav! Kasey and i were talking about having a club car for things like this. I think before we commit to such a thing we should have a talk to our sponsors to see if they would be willing to put some parts from their area towards it and some time. With getting a V8 for it we could see if we can get a wrecker on board for it. Also keep it out of rego to keep costs down. I'm willing to put in some work on this but im not going to have a lot of $ to throw at it. Maybe see If GERRIN THE TOWIE is willing to sponsor it as transport to the show and maybe to chuck some $$ towards it.
As a start we could give it a bit of a clean up?
biggav- 01-26-2009
yeh needs a wash haha
but was thinking quick spray change to blue to go with the club colours, yeh no rego is the best and gerrin was on the top of my hit up list for things like transporting it.
might have a yarn to TLT tomorro when up there and see if can at least get ball rolling in terms or communication.
danc666- 01-26-2009
Why nor leave it white and make the logo on it blue? Or is the paint up to shit?
But yeah would be good to get the ball rolling on it if we are gonna have it as it will save a mad rush at the end.
Asusdragon- 01-27-2009
yeah hopefully Trent maybe able to help out abit im more then willing to put some time into this maybe even talking to Peter see about some suspension upgrades and Lee and Tiana with the exhaust side
i easy put some time into this caronce we have a plan for it and for cash well have to wait and see on that one

Pending how this year goes with organising events with them, would it be worth approaching West Coast Crumpledores about having a joint display to try and get a better spot?
When we get there, it would still be PF<-->WCC displays, but for purposes on paper we would be joined?

I would bet any money he would be overbooked to the shithouse but trying doesnt hurt so see what you can do. Like i said before main priority is to get the important shit together first (shelter, bbq's, generators etc) before worrying about a cruise car.
Im going to be busting my gut to get the car ready, once i get my new comp and net sorted ( i know im as shocked as you will be) then its full steam ahead.
One thing i think would be a good idea is to associate with people that are involved with either organising or promoting the show and other clubs etc etc, just to try and get a foot in the door.
biggav- 01-27-2009
oh good idea chris its not what you know but who,,, maybe thats where tocchi and gerrin might come in handy hrrm? so no more painfully slow youtube loads only to be rickrolled hey chris?
and yes damon i agree as said met phil the pres from WCC and should be going either to their monthly meeting or cruise on the 7th where can sit down and have a chat he was the one that proposed some joint events together even before i said a word.
dan, paint might come up with a buff and polish but im not too sure guess give it a wash and we'll see.
danc666- 01-27-2009
Yep i think getting the rest sorted early will have to happen too. Doing a few thing with WCC would be good.
Who is involved with the MV stuff?
Maybe we could give the car a bit of a clean up and cruise it in powercruise? Maybe not get a v8 into it just clean it up have the logo & url down the side and have all the sponsors on it as well. but we need to get the other stuff sorted for this as well and its Before MV.

soke with trent on access to a motor for it this morning he has a inj 302 sitting there that we can have only thing is he wants kesh for it as i know this was goin to be a hassle will have to try other avenues of sorcing one atm.
if it gets up and ready for PC so be it if worst comes to worst just just keep it a six and convert back to carby.
Asusdragon- 01-28-2009
he thinking of given up the 302 hey i though that one was going to be for his boat oh well maybe he has oother plans now then
biggav- 01-28-2009
nah he said the 302 is for his boat but could buy it off him but think thats out of the league we're here to do this on a shoestring budget not a maccas meal budget(first time in ages saw how much those meals cost shit need a mortgage to eat there nowdays haha)
anyways can still hunt the trusty quokka or try XR9VAN or brenton[xf351gt]
got disco frank on the hunt for prices and what discounts can get from his contact in the marquees if we advertise them and stuff should hear back after friday hopefully.
danc666- 01-28-2009
I have a 350 holley that can go on it. I've got to get an manni to suit a alloy head for my cortina anyway so i could get that as well and put it on it as a loan. Also gav if we gonna keep it a six we can put that rocker cover that i got off it back on. I think if we do it slowly and keep it a six for a bit that would be the best way.
biggav- 01-28-2009
yeh guess so baby steps is the go once the ground work is layed down will be easier to make changes in the end, so yeh might pay to go that way dan.
anyways wanted to see if that oil cap of that rocker cover would suit the EA also as i like that style better than the crappy plastic job.
