yeh i no wat u mean lol..thinking bout removing the spoiler, the guy who had it and put it on glued it as well as screwed it down, so im scared its gona rip the paint up. its also sittin on top of the stripes..so there would be 2 big chunks outta the stripes.
wat do i do lol

Little Blue ZH- 04-11-2008
Take the screws out of the spoiler, then veeery carefully slice through the foam strips underneath the spoiler legs with a knife. That way you'll get the spoiler off, and you won't have the knife going too close to the paint. Hope you have a steady hand though tongue.gif

Then all you need to do is clean off the remaining glue and foam, and she's ready to go.

id use fishing line over a knife.... possibly try heating the glue up a bit.. not so much that ur paint will damaged, just enough to melt the glue, then try fishing line... what most people do when debaging cars from what ive read.

Yeah yeah, fishing line, my bad wacko.gif . Yeah you probably will need to heat it up to be soft enough to cut through. The trusty old heat gun will come in handy for that.

Either that ooooor... Stand on your boot, grab the spoiler with both hands and pull! Although, this method really isn't recommended tongue.gif

a trick i use to get the excess glue off is using cotton with a bit of eucalyptus oil and its comes off pretty easily and cleanly smile.gif

cooky- 04-12-2008
sweet..thanks guy.. ill steal the heat gun from work n test it out.gotta do it quick before the rain comes..n patch up the holes..

mite take the wheels off the ED tomorrow n put em on the EL, ill post up some pics if i do, n lemme no wat you all think.

Elmo- 04-12-2008
Just dont go to excessive with the heat though or you will screw your paint work.... dont get the gun to close, you could even use a hair dryer...

biggav- 04-12-2008
nice car dude if going some newer rims i suggest some GTP copys yes i know they are overdone but do think it will suit the theme you have going.

C'mon Elmo, using a hair dryer's too girly wadesta/secret.gif . Then again, most people are more likely to have a hair dryer in their household than a heatgun, so I suppose it would probably be the cheaper way to go. And safer too, doesn't put out as much heat.

Yeah as Elmo said, don't go too close, and don't apply the heat for too long, otherwise you'll have bubble central on your boot

hmm..yeh i mite go buy a hairdryer..or borrow my cousins(stupid gay emo boy) mite be a lil safer.. hmm gtp would be cool.

any wonderful and caring considerate person out there who knows how to photoshop stuff wanna put the gtps on my car for me biggrin.gif

Little Blue ZH- 04-12-2008
Well, I wouldn't know where to start with photoshop, so I'll leave that to one of the professionals.

The rims, however, if you don't mind rolling on copies, there's a guy ebay that sells them for Pre-AU and AU-BF models.

18 inch GTP rims suit Pre-AU

19 inch GTP rims suit Pre-AU

The same seller also stocks Typhoon Mk1 & Mk11, FPV Cobra, BA XR8 and, for those of you who are inclined, various H****n-make rims as well.

Hope that helps ya mate.
