What I have is the Premium sound (with the bigger colour square screen, sub, amp..etc) and thats where my video is hooked up through. The sound goes through the hands free mobile loom which all the BA/BF's have standard.
The Prestige sound is the smaller screen (non colour rectangle one) which is not capable of displaying video like that.

Bloody hell Mike, his sticker is on the front window not the back, mines on the back!

Jeebus, of course how silly of me hahaha

last time i saw his car he had one front AND back

Ive heard that the LAp Top HDD perform better, as they are made to suit bumps etc... well this is what FNP has told me..
XF Falcon- 01-02-2008
Yeah I'd agree with you there. If this HDD ever packs it in, I'm sure there's a mod out there to stick a laptop HDD into the XBOX.. and i'll see how that goes.
But hopefully *touch wood* it lasts for a long time.
I'm considering sitting the XBOX on a layer of foam to absorb some of the bumps

Laptop drives also use a bit less power and emit less heat, someone else worthy of consideration with a car pc system.
XF Falcon- 01-02-2008
Also a good point. The 12V DC power supply I've used puts out very minimal heat and its capable of supplying more than enough amperage on the 12V, 5V and 3.3V lines. While it is running, if I put my hand at the back of it to feel the air coming out of the unit its pretty cool compared to how it used to run in my house.
Definitely worth considering if the conventional HDD dies on me one day!

Well I finally got the car custom tuned down at Xtreme.
It now makes 275.6rwkw (on a 40 degree day) and its like a different car completely. More power, more torque, faster gear shifts.. holy crap it even chirps 3rd gear sometimes which is bloody awesome. It just fries the tyres now its pretty insane.
I have noticed though, that you just cant use this kind of power on the streets. Before your even out of first or second gear your already speeding, and if you keep the foot down into 3rd gear your well over 140k's on suburban streets, its just not practical and safe to use the power every day.
I'll probably be taking it down this Wednesday (if the weather isn't too hot), and I'll go for that 12.5 second pass that he's estimated.

You probably have a good chance of running a mid 12 as long as the temperature is not too hot. Mine made 271rwkw on xtreme's dyno and has run a best of 12.38, but it usually tends to be around 12.5 - 12.9 depending on ambient temperature and how well I launch.
I know what you mean about the power being impractical on the street though, these cars been be driven extremely fast without exceeding 3500rpm and seemingly no effort at all. Giving it full welly in a populated area is just asking for trouble.
BENXR6T- 01-27-2008
what did the car produce before the custom tune mike? wasn't it 270? i would think a custom tune would be more than 5rwkw better than a generic, but then again, it was 40 degrees and dyno's cant always be relied on.
any more plans for the car? i'd be changing injectors next, i have my doubts that standard injectors will handle 275rwkw well, i think they tend to max out at around 260rwkw.
really makes me want a BF. they seem to have a huge edge over the BA's
custom tune and your already at 275rwkw. it takes heaps to get that in a BA 6T
AaronXR- 01-27-2008
generic tunes are not made for the particular car, for all we know he was running his car right into the ground as the stock injectors would have been leaning out top end no doubt, my car was leaning out something shocking with my generic tune which made 250rwkw.
Ben he has the Siemens 60lb injectors now, and its not all about that power figure, as Mike has mentioned the torque curve, when boost comes on etc has greatly improved the car in general, thats why a custom tune is soo much better (and safer)
He was running flat 13's with 270rwkw, and i bet with just the '5rwkw' more he'll run half a second quicker as he now has a custom tune which would have improved his torque greatly
Aaron.

I don't know if I'd go that far. A BA and BF turbo engine is virtually identical. The only difference is the later BF motors have some Typhoon internals which just means they're not as likely to go bang. Doesn't make a difference as to how easy it is to extract power from it. I would say the biggest advantage a BF has over a BA is the ZF six speed auto, even a standard car with the transmission is considerably quicker then a BA 4-speed.
BENXR6T- 01-27-2008
makes me wonder what rwkw i have. BA tune only, they seem to pull around the 230-240rwkw
tune only BF's seem to be around the 270 mark. why? the figures are there, the BF's are consistantly pulling higher numbers with similar mods.
i pull 13.4 maybe i have around 235. who knows
AaronXR- 01-28-2008
I'd say you'd have in the 240's mate
But regardless hurry up and get your beast Custom tuned, you'll never EVER look back
You're right though the BF's do pull higher figures, but it's probably to do with the gearbox as its pretty much the only difference apart from the late model internals
