Finally got a set of chrome 12 slotters. Not everyones cup of tea, but they look tough. They're 17x8's and should clean up nice - were $15 from a garage sale?!?!

Still looking to convert to a column auto setup if I can get my hands on a few parts.

Will chuck up some pics of the wheels after I've cleaned them up - before and after.

it's going to take a fair effort to get these 12 slotters looking good. Cleaned up one roughly over the weekend just to see how they're going to brighten up, started on the worst one.

Looking better, the centres are all pretty bad, but a bit of rust kill paint and the centre cap on and they'll look nice and you'll never know.

Wouldn't think they were the same rims. They're not perfect up close but will beat the black rims it has now.

The XR had a bath before those last couple of photo's after I removed to tow bar.

Had a flat battery, so whipped a new one on, checked all the levels and started it up - fired away and idled smoothly no problems. HAD to take it for a run. Just a run up the road turned into a 10 minute cruise around the block.

Far out, reminds me why I keep it. Not much power, but so much fun to drive, so much character, so many looks and handles like a boat full of concrete!!!
