Got my booster back today. The guy gave me a crash course in how they work so I should be able to put it back in without fu***g it again. He has left the piston out so I can put it in after the booster is back on.The guy was pretty helpful actually and only charged me $15 to split it and reset it. Thats the joys of trying to do stuff yourself when you don't know what you're doing.

haha tell me about it...
I have a gearbox to make an abortion out of in the next couple of weeks!!
foz- 10-28-2008
Yer Jais there are a couple of things I won't try.One being rebuilding a gearbox and the other is setting up a new diff centre. My Toploader is totally stock and has never been opened.I just run Redline oil in it to help it.I have read how to do a diff but not sure I could actually do it. I haven'y built an engine yet but I have a couple of blocks in the shed I intend doing something with when time and money permit.(just don't tell the wife)

hahaha I won't tell her if you want to build them at my place.
I can turn a spanner if you want to have a go... just don't ask me to balance or blueprint it!

I plumbed the fuel pump up and ran it today. Was way more quiet than the old Black pump and if you could read the guage in the pic you would see a constant 7PSI!!!!!!! I'm a happy bear

Haha.I put the booster in just after I took that pic.I haven't put the master cylinder back on though. Still got a few more things to finish off before I can drive it so probably not ready for the November cruise.

Didn't get a lot of time to work on the car this weekend but I did finish putting the booster back in.So the reg, fuel, pump, booster and twin spring throttle return are done. Still to be done are removing the return to tank fuel line.Modifying the throttle linkage to be more secure.Fixing the blow bye in the passenger side breather.Seems the mechanic used a plug grommet and poked a hole in it instead of a proper seal.

Wow just discovered a massive woops.I thought I would check the spark plugs to see if they were too badly affected by the high fuel pressure and running rich. The front pluglead on the passenger side of the car was not on the plug.It is hidden from veiw by the heater hoses so I didn't notice it.I took the plug out and the one next to it for comparison and it was way cleaner. Now I'm wondering if it was off during Powercruise. The car was running like crap up there but I put it down to the high fuel pressure. Now I'm not so sure. I don't know what the car would run like with one lead off but I may not of noticed it.I once drove a petrol Nissan Patrol from Port Hedland to Geraltdon before I noticed one plug lead was not on.I had the car serviced the day before and I found a couple of spanners a srewdriver and a rag under the bonnet.I only noticed when I got to the hills outside Gero and the car was struggling a bit to get up them.
I think I will splash out on a new set of Spltfires for it.Waiting on an adjustable rod for the clutch pedal so I can customise the travel. So still to do:Plugs, return fuel line and clutch pedal. Plan on being ready for the Club lane booking on 23rd December.

Hey Foz love the ride mate , i see in a couple of pics you have caltrcs fitted or the Ozzy version Oz tracks, ive just fitted some to my car what holes are you useing on the front adjustment have you got it set up for hard launching or the softer option, and do you get any heat from the cops for them as they hang so low, if your interested ive also fitted a Watts Link set up and it looks sweet ill get a photo if your interested in seeing it..

Thanks mate.I got Caltracs from the inventor Calvert Racing Suspension in the States.Fair bit cheaper than buying them here.I've got them set on the bottom hole with almost no pre-load at the moment.Iv'e only been to the Plex once since I fitted them and only got three runs before the radiator overflow tank split so I haven't had a chance to experiment with them yet.Was getting a fair bit of wheel spin as I had Yokies on it and I also run Koni adjustables and HO spec springs so it is quite stiff in the rear.My best 60 foot time with them on is 1:97.Before I had them I did the go to whoa at Motorvation and my best 60 foot was 2:40 but I also had really bad Brigestone 60's on it then too. Hoping to get down to the Plex a few times after Xmas as I am on holidays and will try a few different settings if it won't hook up. I'd like to see a pic of the Watts link as I am thinking of making one for my car as well.

Thought I would post this in here rather than start a new thread. As some of you may know my Son crashed my EL that I purchased recently.Today my mate and I had a go at fixing the front end. We panel beat the dents out and bogged it.Couldn't find the exact same colour at Super Cheap so got the closest one.It is painted and clear coared but needs sanding and buffing which I will do next weekend. Came out OK and will do for now but a new bonnet and front guard will be required if I decide to keep it.
Before but after some initial straightening.
Bogged
Ready for sanding
Painted.
Finished for now.
