Yer I am pretty happy with the way it turned out today.When I think back to the first time it was dynoed and it made 250RWHP it has come a long way.Iv'e changed the exhaust and the carby and the ignition and for it to be making over 400 RWHP now is amazing to me.

Yer Dan I'm very happy.Firstly coz it was only an exhaust gasket and secondly coz it is finally running right.I didn't realise it was over 300kw.That means im in the 400HP club and the 300kw club.

Don't know about the dyno day Gav.It's my birthday on the 1st and I think were having some family over for lunch.Don't need to go now anyway.I got to watch it on the dyno yesterday.They had to get a guy to sit in the boot coz it was spinning on the rollers.

Better tell dad to keep an eye on this thread

Well beleive it or not I painted it myself.If you go back through this thread you can see some pics of before it was painted and also during the paint job.I'm not a painter but I took my time and talked to people who knew how to paint.I used acrylic laquer as it is easier to paint with than 2-pac and gives a better shine when buffed in my opinion.If you have the space at home you should have a go at it.If you mess it up it just means sanding it back and trying again.

Unfortunately on my wat to Bailup today I suffered a terminal engine failure.I pulled out onto West Swan road,gave it a quick squirt and popped it ionto top gear.There was a rattle coming from somewhere so I pulled over into a side street and turned around.As I pulled away in first gear the engine stopped and is now seized.
I got it towed home and set about trying to find out what happened.First I thought rocker gear failure but when I took the rocker covers off it all looked fine.I can't think what has caused it to seize.If it's spun a bearing it should still turn over.The clutch and gearbox still work so I ruled them out.
I'm wondering now if the rattle was coming from the fly wheel.If a bolt has come loose it may of jammed up the fly wheel or the fly wheel may have broken and jammed up.I was going really slow when it stopped so it has got me stumped.
I'll be taking the gearbox out next weekend to see if something has let go in the twin plate clutch or flywheel assembly.
Needless to say I'm not a happy camper.

Maybe drop the oil out and see if theres anything in it that shouldnt be there Don?

Didn't really feel like the engine let go Chris but it won't turn over so I'm struggling to come up with a theory as to what happened.The twin plate clutch is over 20 years old and the flywheel is the original standard Ford one from my engine(I know I should of put a shatterproof one in).So Im hoping it is something to do with these.
Oil pressure and temp were Ok before it stopped and there was no smoke or death rattle.Because I was doing about 10mph when it stopped it is unlikely a rod or piston has failed.If I find nothing when I take the box out I will have to pull the engine and open it up.
