yeah I don't know... I haven't used any of their gear or head anything about it anywhere. All you hear about is scat/eagle etc.

I was reading somewhere that they don't recommend 408 kits unless you have a Dart block because it leaves nothing in the walls. But I reckon if they get bored out and those fancy Darton sleeves or whatever they are get put in then wall thickness probably won't be much of an issue haha.

Nah doen't effect the bore size. The stroke comes from con rod length and piston height. wadesta/thumbsup.gif

wall thickness only becomes a problem at or after 30 thou.

Yep, clevo has 4 inch bore already.

I would stick to a 393, alot of 408 combo loose their "revyness" in the process, while the 393's are still very snappy.

Keep the stroke under square and they love to rev!

um like u said a few pages back foz u could have the best parts in the world and still stuff it on start up, mate used procomp stroker in 308 took it to a 355 burnout car it held up to the challenge um he just used acl race bearings think worst damage he did was over rev it and bent push rod and buggered a rocker,

when say over reved it i mean it hit 7000 rpm

Shaun it's not going anywhere anytime soon... if you've read the last few pages then you should see the engine is out of the car and it's in the naughty corner with it's dunce cap on.

Was trolling through my thread trying to gather some inspiration for how I want to put it back together and thought these pics would make an interesting comparison.Remembering I have had the car for 29 years.
Here is how it started out in early 1980.351 2 barrell motor toploader and borg warner diff.Original GS spec. with custom painted GT stripes. All mine for the massive price of $1700.

After a few years I decided to do it up.Motor was rebuilt and a 9 inch diff went in.Interior was given the popular for the time velour treatment.I did the prep work for the paint and a mate did the painting.Volvo Wine Red.Don't remember the exact year but it was mid 80's i think.

Finally this is it now.Engine was done again and intereior was brought into the 29th century.Everything on the car was either reconditioned or replaced.I did all the paint prep and final painting.Colour is Candy Coke Red.

Thought ti was interesting to see the changes over close to 30 years of ownership. wadesta/thumbsup.gif
