So whats next???

The first thing to do when I get back is get the engine work started. While thats going on I will tidy up a bit in the engine bay and remove a small bit of rust from one of the back doors. Also I will get the stripe fixed under the fuel cap.I was toying with the idea of re-painting it but it doesn't really need it and I want to get stuck into the EL soon.

It was the car I drove for school and it got a red sticker so I put a roll cage in it and raced it.You should of seen it after a season of speedway tongue.gif

Small update.Stripped the motor down ready to go to Southside's to get the block repaired.I left the crank in coz I don't have a puller big enough to get the balancer off. Also left the cam in coz I noticed some damage to the centre bearing and didn't want to damage the cam taking it out.The cam and crank have to go to Southsides anyway to get checked. The sump is on to protect the crank during transport. Also a pic showing the damage to the head. The exhaust valve stem can be seen stuck in the guide and whats left of the spark plug as well. There is some damage to the chamber that will need to be cleaned up.

Depends Jase.If my crank is OK I will re-use it.If not then stroker is on the cards. If my 4 MAB crank is OK I will probably put in a different cam to take some pressure of the valve springs.Hopefully still have 400+ RWHP.

Dropped the motor off to Southside this morning. They had a look and said as long as the crank is OK it will be a fairly straight forward repair. The only problem may be with the piston.I have TRW forged pistons which are hard to get so may have to get another brand that matches the profile. Also spoke about a custom grind cam but that will depend on what the other stuff costs. Will know more in a couple of weeks when the quote is reay. wadesta/thumbsup.gif

the few cams I've looked at, it's been a case of a billet = a billet and there hasn't been much of a difference in $$. Let me know how you go with Southside's because I might need their services in the (hopefully not too distant) future smile.gif

Small update.Having trouble matching the TRW piston that is stuffed.Talking about a set of light weight Ross pistons atm. Can't do anything till I get a quote. The heads look like they are OK and will clean up easy. wadesta/thumbsup.gif
