Think someone needs some slicks!
Good to hear that the motor will be fixed soon. Is it getting stroked?

Well I talked to the engine guy this morning. Not good news unfortunately. To sleeve my block it will have to go to 40 thou which i'm not keen on.To get another block preped to the same spec will cost 2 grand. Also a new set of pistons will be $1400.Looks like I will have to go to plan B.This involves buying all the bits I need from the states and getting it put together here. Will take a lot longer but will be heaps cheaper.I was hoping to get it going by Xmas but that is not going to happen now.

biggav- 10-31-2009
ahh shame though don but at least its the way your wanting it and myself even though you can go more than 40thou start running the risk of many problems down the road.

im sure 2010 will yield some good results.

I feel your pain Don. Sucks not being able to drive your pride and joy.

Maybey we can do an unveiling together in 2010. See what happens ey.

All the best in your build.

Oh and jetts (the cat) doing great buy the way. Hes growing big and he has a bigger attitude. No messing with him. He beats me up. Just ask Glenn087 jett threw him across the room.

Would you sleeve the block or are you chasing another if your are going to plan b?

My brother in law (the one who bought your block) has come across a 2nd stock bore clevo, he might be willing to part with one if your are chasing one?

I'll keep that in mind mate. The block will probably be OK at 40 thou if I keep the comp down. When they sleeve a bore it put's the one next to it out of round hence having to go to 40 thou.I'm looking into getting a short motor from the States. Not too many shops do Clevo's over there but I've got a couple of leads to follow up. wadesta/thumbsup.gif

What's the issue with boring them out that much, do they start getting too close to water jackets or something?

Yer Trent.Cleveland castings are notorious for being inconsistant.30 thou is usually the max you can safely take them out.
