Haha going nice and wide with the tyres i take it? biggrin.gif

They do look mint dont they!

foz- 09-04-2007
at this stage it's looking like I will have to go with 35 series tyres on the front.245/35/17 Toyo Proxes T1R and 265/40/17 Toyo's on the back but I'm not sure about running two different aspect tyres.I don't think the 245's will have enough grip for the rear as it blazes the 265 Yokies very easily at the moment.Still looking though as I have plenty of tread to burn oops wear off the current tyres. wink.gif

Pity for those of you that didn't come to the charity cruise as foz had this beasty there for the start point this thing is a absolute beast of a Machine, kudos credit to foz for all of the effort and money he's spent on this wicked ride!

Just a quick update. The old girl is back up on blocks again this weekend.Found another part that has never been changed in 37 years biggrin.gif .The speedo cable has broken!!Luckily I have a new one and I will take the oportunity to change the ratio of the drive in the gearbox to suit the 3.7 diff swap. wadesta/cool.gif

oh niiiiiiiiice one foz!!

Yeah this thing sounded mean at the charity cruise. Pulled up alongside me to ask where everyone was and we could barely hear each other from 3ft. Love it, shame it can't come with us down south! sad.gif

Ok. so in between drinking and eating this weekend I managed to do a bit of work on the old girl.I fitted the new speedo cable and 3.7 drive cog. wadesta/good.gif Of course it wasn't as easy as I was hoping. The speedo cable exits the firewall right behind the brake booster. mad.gif
It was either take the booster off or try and manouver the cable up behind it.With the use of a bit of fishing line and a little help from the ball and chain it eventually went in. biggrin.gif wadesta/good.gif wadesta/clapping.gif
Looks like the handbrake cable has been rubbing on it for the past 37 years tongue.gif

O.K. another morning of working on the old girl .The camber adjuster on the passenger side was busted so I got a set of K-Mac bolts to replace the stockies which failed at Barbagello along with the brakes.Heres a pic of the offending part. The bolt was just spinning instead of turning the eccentric adjuster.

foz- 10-20-2007
After much grunting and the occasional swear word the old bolt came out.For such a big car there is not much room to work under her. Here is a pic of the old bolt and the new K-Mac one.You can see how much thicker and hopefully stronger the new one is.

Ok so I run a Holley Black fuel pump and have been having some problems with inconsistant fuel pressure for a long time.It was fluctuating between 3 and 7 psi.I tried several things to cure it including running a relay to the pump and rewiring it a couple of times as I thought it was due to a bad earth.I recently found the reason was a partially blocked filter inside the tank. When I fitted the pump I ran a 1/2" fuel line and made a custom 1/2" pickup for the tank.Custom pickup meant custom filter which I made from a Ryco unit.Unfortunately with the fuel additive I use this filter was too fine.
I have now replaced the filter with a mesh unit from a fuel injected car and it works a treat. Now I have constant 9 psi which is borderline high for a carby car.It is going in to Performance Unlimited on Thursday for a tune up as the guy who built the engine works there now. With the high pressure it is fouling the plugs at cruising speed so I am expecting a big improvement when I get it back.
