Hey All!

Currently looking at my ECU options for the turbo project. Would a Microtech LTX 12 do the job? or should I spend some dosh and get somthing better?

Thanks all

whats the specs on the microtech? how much messing around do you intend on doing yourself with the tune?

Enough stuffing around to get it to the dyno! I will try and get some specs on it now.

MicroTech LTX-12s ECU

The s series is the latest offering which will allow for software updates to be applied to the ECU as they becomes available.

Features include:
2x Hall, magnetic or optical input triggers.
6x Fuel injector peak and hold outputs.
1x Auxillary input/output.
MicroTech coils need to be purchased with your LTX 12s ECU. The number of coils puchased depends on the number of cylinders of your car. e.g An 8 cylinder car will require 4 pairs of coils.

They are fairly basic ECU's but I have been told they can run a turbo as they can control Fuel and Ignition

Speak to XR9UTE (dunno if hes on here...yet tongue.gif) about the twEECer for the I6 Setup, tahts what Ill be using, im gonna run around with the MAF while im running on a LOW COMP motor while im gathereing funds for the turbo. and the MAF apparently gives a Phenomonal Torque Curve...Enquire dude, sounds awsome IMO

Wade, if you need any local help with tuning, see George at Guru Racing. He is in Mummery Crescent in bunbury behind Peter May's Auto Centre. Its pretty easy to miss, its tucked away out the back all 'Need For Speed: Underground' style laugh.gif . He has a dyno and all computer programming software, but has a good knowlege on everything, strengths are with stinger units though. But give him a bell and see what he can do for you.

OK I'm thinking of doing something with Monty's ecu because I'm not getting the most out of this cam, and the Ticky one that I was using must be fried because the std one runs the car much better *shrug*

I have NO idea what different aftermarket engine mangagement systems there are... but I want one that's easily tuneable, maybe one like the BA/F where I can easily switch tunes and most importantly it will have to handle forced induction (for later down the track).

Cheers,
-Jais

Just buy a BA XR6 Turbo, problem solved biggrin.gif

Just get the SCT chip on the standard fairmont ecu Jais if u keep in N/A for a decent amount of time

Xran- 07-07-2007
which one is the SCT chip? Is that the CAPA one?

If it has the potential to handle boost down the track then I think I'll do exactly that, and then get the diff ratio changed afterwards (leaning toward 3.7 LSD atm)

eed-250- 07-07-2007
3.7 isnt preffered for boost but. you want a 3.27 or 3.08 lsd for boost. biggrin.gif

id go an EMS stinger.

Xran- 07-07-2007
EMS stinger.... is that a full EMS or is it like a little module that tells the std ecu what to do? I'm a total n00b when it comes to this stuff haha.... if it isn't obvious... so yeah, as much info as you can spill!!!

please??

Moody- 07-07-2007
thats what ium getting, they are highly regarded by all the tuners ive had word with, they reatil for only 1200, less on ebay, and there only a few specs short of the 8860.
ems is a standalone unit, but you can run it piggy back on your std ecu. so to only contorll the fuel and ignition, saves messing around wiyth running the auto etc.

Xran- 07-07-2007
sooooo "EMS" is a brand... ??

Moody- 07-08-2007
yes,
stinger 4424 is the model.

gazza750- 07-08-2007
ever thought of wolf v5 fully programmable and they suit later model ford 6 and 8
