For those of you that saw my posts in almost every forum the other week looking for parts, the parts have been found and the big girl should be getting the work done next week or if not the week after that. So far I've paid for the T5 box and the EL tickford 4 litre to match it. Now all thats left to do is get those put in, everything wired up, and then I need to get some rust taken care of and a new layer of paint to make it look the part.

I've got one pic so far, as i said, it's nothing special yet, just a 1987 series 1 EA S pack with some tickford rims on it, the interior is in mint condition other than the carpet on the roof, the outside has a bit of rust and the bonnet needs to be replaced when i get her painted. I bought her for the grand old sum of $1000 two weeks ago which i thought was a bargain considering I've been looking for some tickford rims for my ED for a long time and would have forked out close to that just for the rims.
I'll get some new pics up as each part gets completed.

thats got the later EB grill, EB colour handles, but EA mirrors and c pillar trims.

yeah its an EB bonnet and door handles, other than that she is very stock at the moment

The guy that sold it to me works with my girlfriend, he loves fords even more than i do and just wanted it to go to someone who would look after her rather than sit in his driveway collecting dust. I'm calling it my "EA/EL hybrid" at the moment lol, but will probably end up with either an eb gt lookalike bonnet or some other aftermarket bonnet, still not sure what colour it will end up though...........thinking maybe the tickford blue (the navy blue from the eb/ed xr's) seeing as I had that planned for the ED and won't be keeping her anymore /cry

whoa full respray/colour change is extreme if your going to do it properly means the full car stripped down to its bones?

why not go the same red but throw a gold or orange pearl through it? bit of rust in the bottom corner of you passenger door if not already aware.

yeah the rust is basically where its expected, bottom corners of doors, along the gutters above the doors and a bit on the rear wheel arches. As far as paint goes, it probably will stay the same colour due to cost. I do like the red, but I'm so fond of the tickford blue

Next thing on my shopping list right now is a radar detector lol

I Picked up the big girl on Saturday. Currently got the wrong computer in it so the idle is dodgy and its lacking a few horsepower, but still happy with it. Should all be fixed this week.

Even with the 2.77 LSD it is quick. I'm in love

My favourite part is the "WTF" that I get whenever I lift the bonnet now

Looks realy good for an EA, espicialy with that motor what ECU will you be running in the end for it? the EL unit?

REd is good, make's it look like an XR6, so maybe do it up like one more?

You sure its a 87??? im sure these only came out in late 88

me thinks so too coz I had one of the first EAs a fairmont Ghia and it was deffinately 88

might find handfull of 87' builds but thats the first batch and should only been the taxi spec 3.2lt jobbies.

Yeah my insurance company doesnt believe me either, but it is a december 1987 series 1 EA, even Rob at kalamunda performance was shocked. It was a 3.9 litre centre point with a 3 speed auto. Now obviously an EL tickford 4 litre with a T5. It will have an EL tickford computer. Rob has the one that i got with the motor, but it's auto, so if he can't find a manual one I'll have to get him to chip the auto one and get a few more horses that way aswell

Next move is to get the little rust patches puttied up and replace the front door seals. then when i have the cash a respray. I've decided she can stay red, It's grown on me, but the ED is no longer for sale, once this one is finished my missus wants to do the ED up and paint that one cobalt blue.

It's good when the missus likes cars aswell
although she reckons the ED will own me in the quarter mile when she's done lol. Might have to boost it sooner than i thought

I talked to Rob today, and it looks like I'm getting the auto computer chipped, will be getting done next week, probably Wednesday. also I've located a 3.45 LSD that I will be purchasing in a month or so

I want it now, but I've told myself I'm getting the rust patched up before any more mods are done

i thought the ea's come out in 88??

they did but few of them where 87 builds cause the XF sold out so quickly than ford had thought it would so were left around "twidling thumbs" so to speak.

the ones built in 87 where the 3.2lt taxi packs(no AU jokes please lol)
