dont get hoosiers man, get MT drag radials. 225's will not help your cause for traction......the MT's are 255's, iv'e seen them on plenty of high powered cars, and their fine. i can get you a brand new set for 560, just PM me if your interested

Theres more sizes than just 225 in the Hoosier's. Coming from people who have used both, i have been reccomended the Hoosiers as they hook up better.

Be careful.  They'll kick you out if you run an 11 unless you have a bunch of other gear (tail shaft loop and so forth) plus an andra license. Half the reason I havn't bothered with slicks for mine.

no they wont

if you go quicker than 10.99, then your in trouble. nothing will happen if you run a 11, people run them all the time in street trim cars down there.....

Its not just the times that get ou in trouble its the MPH. I thinks its 115mph where you have to have a tailshaft loop and 4 point harness. Theres more rules and regulations than you think.

Xran- 09-28-2008
yeah they'll kick you out if your ET's are too low, if your 60ft is too fast or if your terminal is too fast. A mate of mine has an AC Cobra with an EB's 5L in it and T5. Can't remember what diff. His 2nd pass down there was 12.0 and he got booted. He asked if he could practise launching and back off after the 60ft marks but they wouldn't allow it until he had proper roll bars as well as the 4-pt harness, tailshaft loops etc.

I know it's slightly different with the cut-offs being an open top and all, but the concept is still the same

Yeh. but I only have 16" ba steelies to put the tyres on. And I think there either 6.5" or 7" wide. So the 255 M/T wont fit would they. But the 225 hoosiers will fit. Either that or I would have to get the steelies widened at $100 a wheel which isnt possible with my budget.

Would love to go wider but money is my enemy at the moment.

I might get kicked out than. Im doing 114mph with no traction. Wonder what I will get with traction.

Benxr6t if I need some tyres I will let you know. Cheers mate

does that extinguisher have a tag on it? (i cant see one in photos)

because if it doesnt, you probably want to source one with a tag.... because a lot of events (that require extinguisher) wont allow you in if its not tagged (and in date)

danc666- 09-29-2008
Oh that reminds me i need to get a extinguisher, where is the best place to get one?

GlennO87- 09-29-2008

If you run slicks, You must run Front runners (cross ply's).

If you can spare it a set of slicks and front runners will pick up a few mph and perhaps a few 1/10s, due to the less drag, but all up you might be looking at 2 -2.5 grand for a new set front and back with front runner rims to match.

Looking good Shaun, will be interesting to see her in full flight again, hopefull a few 11's and plenty of smoke.

chrgd xr- 09-30-2008
if you could pick yourself up a pair of cheap xr 17's. you could run mt street radials 275/40's. run them on mine highly recommend them. i get 1.9 60fts with them leaving the line with no boost. you should be looking at 1.8ish at least beings yours is pd blower. you may even find your mph comes down a touch with the lower 60 ft you will be making it to half track quicker therefore dont have as much time to cover second half of track.
