Get it checked to see that the chassis isn't bent. If it is then the strength is compromised and if you crash or get hit the risk that you get taken away in pieces is multiplied.

The panels you could take off, heat up and knock the dents out with a rubber mallet on a dolley. Just need a new front bumper and bonnet really... and the rad support panel that you mentioned plus the suspension stuff.

Main thing is MAKE SURE THAT CHASSIS IS OK!!!!!

OK i will look into getting the chassis checked. Anyone know a good place to get it checked at a resonable price?

Sorry can't help with places to go up here... I'd assume most panel beater's would have a jig for it though?

Sorry to hear of your bad luck Shaun. I must have missed it by half hour or so, didnt see it up in the display either.

Im not so sure about the bolt snapping under load though, doesnt look like it on the video, more like abit of over correction. My guess is it snapped when you hit the wall.

Hope you get it all sorted on the cheap and have it back on the road asap.

Wouldn't be suprised if the diff bolt did let go. Very common on BA's with a bit of power behind them.

No way would I be stinging on checking how straight the car is in something with that much power though. That's not the sort of car you can go cheap on.

Over correction maybey. But I was going good until it suddenly slides out badly. Was strange and was thinking about it all day. On the in car vid I have. You can see the car twitch as the bolt snaps and the diff slides. Causing the car to veer off the road.


On Elmos (as much as we hate him) xr8 his did the same thing just out of the blue. On a cruise up to the ford museum. I think its a flaw in the M86 diffs.

i didnt think it was the best setup for power skids it looked narrow from where i was.
