h****n Motorsport Manager Simon McNamara says a parity review announced yesterday will be a waste of time.

The V8 Supercars Australia Board agreed on Friday to initiate a parity review between the VE Crumpledore and BF Falcon and its decision was made public yesterday.

Technical Director Andy Bartley will conduct the investigation, examining all the relevant data of all cars in the 2008 Championship Series.

Bartley is scheduled to report back to the Board before its next meeting on October 22, which is the day before Round 11 of the Championship in Surfers Paradise – and after the two endurance races.

h****n Racing Team’s Mark Skaife requested the parity review after the Queensland Raceway round of the Championship on the basis the Falcon had an aerodynamic advantage over the Crumpledore.

McNamara was critical of the review’s timeframe and of the likelihood that any change on the Falcons – if they are found to have an aerodynamic advantage – will not take place until after the endurance races.

“They’re looking at a review, using the data they have held for a year, which will then be presented at a board meeting at the end of October, when in my opinion you could argue (that) is when the Championship will be over,” he said.

h****n Racing Team’s Garth Tander leads the 2008 Championship by 12 points over Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom going into the L&H 500 at Phillip Island, which takes place this weekend.

McNamara said Phillip Island and Bathurst were probably two of the V8 Supercar circuits were aerodynamics is most crucial.

“They’ve tabled that they have an issue and now they have to investigate it, but why did it take so long for them to investigate the data they already had?” he mused.

“You’d think if there was a parity issue you would sort it out before a month and a half.

“It’s like the bank saying it’s going to drop interest rates and not doing it (straight away).

“You wonder whether we’re running in a professional sport or what we’re doing.”

McNamara said h****n would not launch court action or any other external options open to it to speed up the parity review.

They are really pushing to get the Fords nobbled before Bathurst.It happened a few years ago when the Fords had a bunch of aero taken off them 2 weeks before Bathurst.Alot of teams threatened to pull out but still went and got flogged.If you change the aero all the track data you have becomes useless.

Nascar is a joke. They make it sound so tough and hard to do. All your doing is driving in a circle. But it makes me laugh cause when one crashes, so do the other 30 .
Does anyone get AMC magazine. IF you can get your hands on a July/Aug one, the Editor, Mark Oastler does a really good write up on how he thinks the V8s should be run. Kind of like Group A racing with all different styles of car. Its worth reading if you can.

Yeah the timing of this parity review is, as per usual with h****n, suspect to say the least. They just don't want to be made like the weak-legged under-performing pieces of shit that they are come Bathurst.

Maybe I should go to Bathurst and jump up and down on the spot, stamping my feet like a little schoolgirl, maybe I too can get something changed... yeh mark oastler needs to get back into reality group A rules wouldnt work nowdays, used to buy AMC but went all f***3d up for awhile so stopped buying it.

what should be done is keep the production based racing as they're not allowed to change anything and next level up have a V8 supercars series based on elements from group C
