Why don't they fit? Leave the offset off completely, or literally don't fit?

Xran- 09-19-2008
Jeff are they the ones that are intended for the Mustang?

I think Tocchi ran into problems with getting them onto his XG but has also found a way around it.

She's looking HOOOTTTTT!!

Mounting the custom stub = No prob. Mounting the custom hub assembly with bearings to stub = No prob. Mounting the rotor onto hub = No prob.

Mounting the caliper along with adapter bracket and 8mm spacers = No Go!!

Turns out if i had the 20mm kit itd work no dramas.
The problem im having is that with the 8mm spacers between the adapter bracket and the caliper, when i try mount it all up to the stub over the rotor the caliper is fouling on the stub.
Now with no rotor and no spacers the caliper and adaptor bracket mounts up to the stub no prob. Then the problem is that the rotor is 8mm too far out coz i have the 28mm Hub on there.

Will try and get some pics up to explain.

Bit more info the brake kit itself here.

Yeah sort of. The rotors are a mustang item, stubs are modified e-series ones and calipers are VE Crumpledore Twin Piston.
They come in two offsets, 20 and 28mm. I got the 28mm kit and thats where im running into trouble.

Cheers mate, im pretty happy with the way she's looking atm, just spewng about the brake situation, they would have just topped it off. They looking F****g mad dummied up on the car.

Well the UPC kit is all packed back up ready to be picked up by Toll Ipec and sent back to UPC for a full refund.

I wasnt going to mess around grinding things to clear. If the kit doesnt work before it leaves the factory dont let it leave the factory.

I have been in contact with Matt from Race Brakes Sydney (site sponsor) and one of their 330mm kits will be on its way to me this week. Yes its abit more expensive but at least this one works and im not the guinea pig this time, its been fitted to cars before and it operates and functions properly as a full "bolt on kit".
That means i will be sticking with e-series offset, thats ok, i'll just continue running my hub adaptors untill i can afford some FR19's in e-series offset

I should hopefully have the kit here early next week then its all signs go from there. At least i know this kit will work lol.

Big thanks to Matt from Race Brakes Sydney he is a top bloke and very easy and helpful to do business with. I reccomend him to anyone looking at doing any decent brake upgrades.

Yeah ya get that hey, serves me right for being the guinea pig, although i was told i wasnt.

The TKO should be no dramas with the malwood conversion kit. I trust Mal with anything tremec into fords.

Brakes arrived today!!!!
Have to reccomend Racebrakes Sydney for anyone contemplating a big brake upgrade for their e-series, excellent service and only took a week to get here!!
Kit basically runs a modified upright (no ball joints inc.), AUII PBR sports twin piston caliper and DBA slotted EL GT 330mm rotors. It comes with all the other bits including custom braided lines, pads, wheel bearing kit, hub seals and adaptor brackets.

Should have it fitted up on Saturday. Heres a few pics for now.

That looks pretty awesome Jeff. Should loo the goods on the ute. Mind if I ask what it was worth?

Got any plans for the rear? Know if anyone does anything for the rear?

Cheers mate. Kit is worth $1990 then obviously plus post and deposit on exchange stubs.
Really glad i stuck with the factory e-series offset in the end, i was thinking of going to an FPV copy wheel in e-series offset to do away with the hub adaptors, but i think i'll just stick with what i've got untill i can afford some FR19's.

As for the rear i will just go slotted rotors and decent pads with the standard calipers. If i go 9" i will have to look at what brakes will work with that as i may have to chang again. Not too sure who does upgrades for the rear either, a twin piston rear would be nice, with line locker of course wink.gif
